Principal Brian Reed led the team that developed ENO wine, cheese and chocolate tasting rooms for Strategic Hotels and Resorts. Contracted to “create a unique revenue generating concept inside existing 4-star hotel lobby space that adds to the hotel guest’s experience and also appeals to local non-hotel guests,” Reed developed the first 0-ENO-logy wine, cheese and chocolate tasting room in 1300 square feet of space in the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Reed later replicated this innovative and engaging tasting room concept at four different luxury hotel locations, with additional tasting rooms in development at seven more hotel properties.
Over the course of the engagement, Reed’s day-to-day management responsibilities at ENO included:
- Interfacing between host Hotels and ENO operations
- Concept creation, initial brand development and management
- Site development, design and construction oversight
- Ongoing day to day operations management consulting
- Key personnel recruitment, hiring, training and supervision
- Marketing, branding and public relations oversight
- Quality assurance for concept, products, brand and imaging
